Screen Shot of ZipView Dialog Window
The ZipView window appears at the last used size and position when a file with the 'zip' extension is double clicked.

If 'WorkDir' is pushed, the inactive window is changed to the the FileStar/2 WORKDIR subdirectory, the WORKDIR directory is emptied (unless the archive itself is in WORKDIR) and the zip file contents are dumped into that directory and the window is activated.

You may double click on a file in the archive to browse it or use the other pushbuttons to add files in the FileStar/2 windows to the archive, extract selected files to any directory clicked on in the FileStar/2 tree(s), and edit or delete selected files. A context menu is available for those users that prefer popup menus.

If ZipView is selected from the menu or toolbar without a file selected, it appears empty in a 'Create' mode. Just click on the files desired in the FileStar/2 window(s) (hold the Ctrl key down for random selection) and when the files to archive are selected, push the 'Add' button. It can't get much simpler than this.

Using ZipView and the WORKDIR directory makes installing applications received in a zipped file a snap. Open it in ZipView, dump it into WORKDIR, double click on 'install.exe' (usually the case) and the program installs. Then WORKDIR gets automatically cleaned out on next use or shutdown.
