FileStar/2 v3.00 Evaluation Problem Fixed
The initial release, v3.00.00, had an anomaly in that if the program was installed in the month of December, it caused an immediate disablement of drag-n-drop and directory operations. This has been fixed in v3.00.01 which is now available for download. Two other very minor bugs and two very minor improvements are also included in the update. Read the fix_list here.

FileStar/2 v3.00 Evaluation Problem
Installing the program in the month of December is causing the immediate disablement of drag-n-drop and directory operations prematurely. Tthe program is not being pulled from downloads before fixing the problem since a valid key bypasses the problem code and users wishing to purchase a license will not be affected. This notice will be removed or modified when the FS/2 evaluation date functions are working correctly. So beware, if you are just evaluating the program, the current code unintentionally puts FS/2 in this crippled state at install time.  Tests on FlexEdit to date do not indicate a problem although the evaluation date code in each application was intended to be the same.  Please accept an apology for this oversight.

FileStar/2  v3.00 was released on this date. As stated in numerous notices previously, it was not released 'very soon' as  planned. But now that it is, you should find the program is faster with improved and new features. And FlexEdit is included as an integral viewer/editor. This version is installed as an evaluation (trial) version. You can try before you buy.  What you buy is a license and keys to enable the program for long term use.  Without keys, it will run unrestricted for one month after installation. Thereafter it runs with feature degradation occurring over the next two months. At the end of six months, the program will start but immediately close. It can be fully enabled at any time by adding purchased keys to the installed directory.
