Print Options - LPT Help

Printing to a LPT Port

When a printer port (LPT1, LPT2 or LPT3) is selected for a print job, the printer output is directed to that port. While the print setup options are fewer than when printing to an installed print object, there are some options available. The Print Options - LPT dialog is used to select these options.

The default font set for the printer is used.

Printer Init

A printer initialization string may be entered to initialize the printer. See the Users's manual for instructions.

Header

Enter a text header for the page if desired. The Header field is limited to 128 characters. The filename may be used as a header by checking the 'Use File name for header' check box.

Include Time stamp in footer

A date/time stamp is added to the footer if checked.

Include page numbers

If this option is checked, the pages are numbered.

Page size

Use the Page size control to dial in the number of lines per page. On a letter form this is normally 60 but may vary with the form length and printer default font. Adjust as necessary if too many or too few lines per page are printed.

Tab size

Use the Tab Size control to set the tab size to use while printing. Tabs are replaced with the numbers of spaces set in this control.

Margins

Set the margins as desired. Margins are set horizontally by printing spaces and vertically by printing blank lines.

When printing from FlexEdit, use the Print radio buttons to selected the scope of the print job. It may be limited to pages, lines or a block of text.

Start and End Lines
