The Print dialog is the main interface to a print job from within FileStar or FlexEdit. It is used to select the installed printer or port to use, select a printer font and font size, modify the selected files list if desired (FileStar only) and to activate a Page Setup dialog that may be used to set other printed page options.

Select printer/port - The Select printer/port list is used to select an installed printer or port for the print job. This must be the first selection made since most other selections are dependent on the selection..
Select font - The Select font list shows the fonts available for the selected printer. Select one of the listed fonts for the print job. The list may be filtered to show only printer and/or fixed width fonts through checking the Printer and/or Fixed width check boxes.
Size - The Size list shows the fonts sizes available for the selected font. Select the font size after selecting the font.
Printer - The Printer check box is used to limit the available fonts shown in the Fonts list. If this check box is checked, the list of fonts available is limited to those supported in the printer. If is not checked, the list of fonts available includes all installed outline fonts. The number of fonts available for each setup is shown in the Fonts window at the upper right of the dialog.
Fixed Width - The Fixed Width check box is used to filter the Font list. If the Fixed Width check box is checked, the fonts available are limited to fixed width (monospaced) fonts, regardless of the Printer check box state.
Text - The Text radio button is used to set the font for the body of the document. The Font list is updated when this control is clicked. By default, this control is always initialized to Text.
This selection must be made AFTER selecting the printer since selecting the printer may change the fonts available.

This selection must be made AFTER selecting the printer since selecting the printer may change the fonts available.
Setup - Push this button to activate the Print Options dialog. This dialog has setup options for setting margins, inclusion of headers and footers including use of the file name as a header and the date/time stamp in the footer, line numbers may be added to the output and the print job scope may be limited by pages, lines or a block if printing from FlexEdit. Available printer forms are also listed. The Job Properties dialog may be accessed to set the form and other parameters.
Print - The Print pushbutton starts the print job.
Most options are saved when the dialog is closed and restored on next use.
