Append File(s)

to a target file. If multiple files are selected, the files are appended
in the display order of the selected files.

Files Dialog

selected source file.
- Join Field - Contains a summary of the number
of files to append and the total size of all selected files.
- To Field - Contains the target directory and
file name, appended with the string .app, to signify an appended
file and give it an unique name. The initialized target directory is the

the same as the cursored file in the source window. Either may be manually
changed as desired and the path may be changed using point : click of the
target directory.

Appending One or More Files
The function has the same user interface as a Copy operation. To
append one or more files, proceed as follows:
- The operation is started by selecting the file(s)
to append. It may be necessary to sort the files to set the append order
as desired.
- When the Files->Append menu
option is selected, a Text Message box
appears that warns of a sort requirement if two or more files are being
appended to a target file. When this message window is closed with the Ok
button, the Append dialog is opened and initialized with the target
directory set to the path of the opposite window and with a suggested target
file name the same as the cursored file in the source window - and with
an '.app' extension.
Text
Message Dialog
- Point and click in the desired target directory.
The target file name may be changed to any legal name.
- Press the dialog Append button to start
the operation.
- After the append operation completes, rename
the target file as desired.
Rejoining Files From A Split File Operation
The Split file function results in two or more files with the original
file name plus a serialized extension of '.01', '.02'. etc.. To rejoin the
files, use the same procedure as above - but it is mandatory that the user
adjusts the sort of the files in the source window such that the files are
listed in the serialized extension order. They may be in the correct order
when selected but, if not, the Text Message window, which warns of the sort
order requirement, has a Sort button that may be used to sort the
files to the ascending extension order.
