File operations are selected from either the Files menu, the Toolbar, or keyboard combination keys. Most operations may be performed on multiple files, whereas others, specifically Execute and ZipView, may be performed only on a single file. The file(s) for an operation must be selected before activating a menu. Most selections activate a dialog for the operation.
The following menu items may be used on individual files or a selected list of files:
Copy/Split/Append - Copies or
appends file(s), or splits a single file (less that 2GB) into multiple parts,
using dialogs to set target directory (point & click).
Move - Moves file(s) using dialogs to set
target directory (point & click).
Rename - Renames file(s).
Delete - Deletes file(s) with/without
confirmation dialog.
Zip - Zips file(s) using dialogs to set target
directory (point & click).
Unzip - Unzips file(s) using dialogs to
set target directory (point & click).
Attributes - Sets file attributes,
manipulate extended attributes.
Date/Time - Sets last write date and
time.
Edit - Opens default editor, passing files
as parameters (ASCII or binary).
Browse - Opens default viewer, passing
files as parameters (ASCII or binary).
Print - Opens dialog to set print options
(ASCII text only).
File list - Saves or prints and displays
file list, other clipboard functions.
The following menu items may be used with two or fewer selected files:
ZipView - View/manipulate contents of
a single zip. rar or self-executing zip file.
Compare - Byte compare any two files using
an external compare program (default). Compares CRCs between any two files
in same directory or single file in two directories. Displays the CRC of
a single file.
Query - Opens a dialog that displays comprehensive
file data of a single file.
Find - Find files or text (system wide function).
Run - Opens the command line dialog.
Undelete - Displays files in delete directory
if DELDIR enabled. Undelete selected files.
WPS Object - Initiates the
WPS default associated action on a single file.
