For help with the FS/2 application window, see General Overview.
The Directories Window
The Directories window contains the directory tree(s) for the currently logged drive(s). The directory tree associated with the active Files window is displayed. Activating the recessive Files window displays the directory tree associated with that window.
The title bar displays the drive letter and volume name for the drive currently displayed in the active Files window. In the example below, the window has multiple trees (3) in it and is color coded to indicate it is associated with the blue File window.

Reading or Refreshing a Directory
The use of single or double LMB clicks to read or refresh a directory is optional. The default setting is to use a single click. This mode overrides the standard WPS action which is a single click selects a directory and a double click initiates the action. The option is set in page 2_2 of the Settings notebook.
The context popup or action bar menu selections are applicable to the selected directory - which may be different from the current directory displayed in the active file window.
Control Buttons
Located at the bottom of the Directories window are three pushbuttons:
Directories Menu
A RMB click anywhere in the tree will pop up the context menu and is the recommended way to make menu selections. Additionally, a RMB click on a directory will both select the directory and pop up the context menu.
The pulldown and popup context menus are identical.

Moving and Sizing the Window
The Directories window cannot be moved, but may be resized in the up, down and right directions.
Double clicking the left mouse button in the title bar will expand the window to the horizontal size of the FS/2 Window minus the width of the Drives window. Another double click will restore it to normal. The window may be expanded and restored only. The window will not minimize.
The left side of the Directories window is fixed adjacent to the Drives window. It moves only when the font in the Drives window is changed. The right side is always set at the default window width. The default window width is initially set at a 28% ratio of the space between the right edge of the Drives window and the right edge of the FS/2 client window. The user may drag adjust the position of the right edge and optionally change the default ratio. The default ratio is maintained when resizing the FS/2 main window.
Use the Setup->Lock Windows option to lock or unlock drag sizing of the internal windows. Locking the windows prevents the user from accidentally resizing a window.
Expanding/Collapsing the Directories
The directory tree is not fully expanded by default.
Expandable directories
are indicated with

Current Directory View
The directory tree for a drive may be displayed in either full tree or current directory views. Full tree view is the default view and shows all first level directories on the drive. To enable and use the current directory view, either mouse chord a directory or enable the Current Dir View in the Drives menu. The mouse chord sets the mode to current dir view until the next drive read. Setting the option in the menu retains the option until it's disabled.
When in Current Dir View, there is a submenu option, Show 1st Level Dirs, that controls the moding:
Current
Directory View - Showing First Level Dirs
Current
Directory View - Not Showing First Level Dirs
In either case, to change directories up or down the tree, either click the parent directory or a subdirectory. Using the Current Directory View without showing first level directories is much like using the File Dialog.
The Current Directory View option is set for the selected drive only. Drive X: may be set to show the full tree view while drive Y: is set to current directory view. It is recommended that the Current Directory View be used for drives with slow response times such as those with FTP file system drivers (NetDrive, FTPIFS).
Title Bar Mouse Clicks
Mouse clicks in the title bar result in the following actions:
Changing Directories
Upon startup, FS/2 displays the contents of the directories passed as command line or program object parameters. If there are none, it will read in the last used directories of the last session.
Directories are normally changed by single (if enabled) or double clicking the LMB with the mouse pointer on the desired directory. Other methods include:
