The Commands->Desktop Backup->Ask Before Backup menu item is a toggle to enable or disable a query, before each automatic desktop backup, on whether to proceed with or skip the backup. If this option is disabled (checked off), an automatic desktop backup is make at the set backup interval.
Whether the user elects to skip or continue a backup, the next backup attempt will occur after the set backup interval.
