FlexEdit Start Options

The FlexEdit window is integrated within FileStar/2 in a manner which allows selectable use of defined external viewer and editor programs for these purposes if the users prefers another application. To set up the editor or viewer defaults;

When the default editor or viewer is defined as internal, the normal methods (LMB double click on a file, menu/toolbar items Edit/Browse, or Keys Alt+B/E) will open the FlexEdit window. However, any defined external viewer or editor may be invoked by holding down the Alt+Shift (viewer) or Ctrl+Shift (editor) keys while using the normal start methods, including Alt+Shift+double clicking a file for the alternate viewer. The opposite is true if the default is defined as external, the user defined external program loads with no modifier keys down and FlexEdit loads if the aforementioned modifier keys are down.

There is a FE button in the menu. If pushed with a file or files selected, it loads the file(s) in FlexEdit and in edit mode regardless of other setup options. If there is no file selected, it loads FlexEdit with the startup option set in FlexEdit Setup.
