The Directories->Create menu item activates the Create Directory dialog. From this dialog a directory may be created as a subdirectory to the current selected directory. The current selected directory may be changed after invoking the dialog by simply clicking on another directory.
The dialog Create entry field is validated as the user enters the new directory name.
