Mouse Clicks
Mouse clicks in FS/2 may be optionally set to modify normal OS behavior.
If the option Single click drives/directories on Options page 2_2 of the Settings notebook is checked, clicks are modified as follows:
If the option Single click drives/directories is not checked, clicks are unmodified and perform the standard OS actions as follows:
If the option Middle MB selects/double clicks on Options page 2_2 of the Settings notebook is checked, a middle mouse button click both selects and executes actions as if the user had double clicked the file object. This occurs only on controls that accept double clicks. Of course this is redundant in the Drives and Directories windows if the Single click drives/directories option is enabled.
When Multiple Trees are in use, mouse click actions are modified as described in multiple trees.
Changing Target Paths
Nearly all file and directory operations may be performed using dialogs and the mouse without input from the keyboard. Path information is passed to the program through single clicking on directories in the directory tree with the left mouse button. The program manages window focus and initially sets the path of the opposite window as the path for most operations if the opposite window is not in use with another operation. The user simply clicks on the directory of choice in the directory tree to change the path.
If a different drive is needed, you may:
When any multiple file operation is initiated, the source file window is locked to prevent the user from accidentally destroying the selected file list or selecting other menu options. However, it is possible to freely switch windows to set window focus and swap directory trees. The source window remains locked until the user either cancels the operation or the operation is completed. The drive for the source window can be changed while the window is locked as noted above.
NOTE: If the file window remains locked after an operation due to some abnormality, the lock may be removed by pushing the Size pushbutton in the Data Panel. This action will also reset the internal windows to their default size and position.
