FileStar/2 may be closed by any of the conventional close methods, including the Titlebar close button, the Window Task List, Alt+F4, and double clicking the System icon in the Titlebar. Upon closing, the configuration data, which is maintained in memory throughout a session, is saved to FILESTAR.INI file without a query. The program will then restart on the same directories and all previously used configuration data.
The program may be closed without saving the configuration by selecting Commands->Close w/o Save or using the System menu Close w/o Save option.

If the FILESTAR.INI file becomes corrupted, it will generally be necessary to delete it and let the program generate a new default file or restore a backup copy. To restore a backup copy, copy it to the directory that contains the INI file and then use either of the Close w/o Save options. This is necessary to prevent the program from writing corrupted or current data to the restored INI file. Restart FS/2 and the restored INI data will be used to initialize the program.
