Startup Directories
When FS/2 is started for the first time after installation, the directory in which FS/2 is installed will be initialized in both Files windows. Subsequent invocations of FS/2 will automatically open the directories last used in each Files window. You may change this behavior and specify the directories to initialize with command line or the Workplace Shell (WPS) desktop program object Properties parameters. For example, entering the following command:
FILESTAR C:\OS2 D:\APPS
C:\OS2 D:\APPS
Startup Mode
FS/2 may be started minimized, maximized or as a Swap window by setting options in the FS/2 Settings notebook Controls, Page 2_3. These settings may be overridden from a command line or the program object by using one of the following parameters in the Parameters field:
These parameters must immediately follow the program name and precede any path parameters, for example:
FILESTAR /SWAP G:\MyData F:\OS2

The above command line, or the program object Properties notebook Parameters field modified as shown, would start FS/2 as a swap window with the directories initialized to C:\OS2 in file window A and D:\APPS in file window B.
Other Startup Parameters
There are two additional startup parameters that may be used:

Additionally, you may insert the full file spec of any file in the parameters field and FS/2 will perform the associated action for that file type when opened. For example, if the file has a '.zip' extension, FS/2 will open ZipView with the contents of the zip file displayed. In the example shown below, it will open the file in the viewer.
