The size of the internal windows is determined by the size of the FS/2 frame window. Resizing the FS/2 frame window will proportionally resize the Drive, Directories and Files windows. All windows that have sizable borders, including some dialog windows, may be resized in the same manner as any window in OS/2: by moving the pointer over the border of the window, holding down either mouse button, dragging the border to the desired size and releasing the mouse button. These changes are retained from session to session of FS/2 in the FILESTAR.INI file.
The resizing of the internal windows is limited as follows:
When resizing the width of the Directories window, the user will be asked if the new width should be used as the default width. The default width is used during all window reset operations and is good for the life of the FILESTAR.INI file. The default width is a ratio of the Directories window to the width of the application window and is therefore maintained when changing desktop resolutions.
The size and position of the FS/2 window and all internal windows are always saved on shutdown (except for the "Close w/o Save' command) and used to restore the size and position on the next start up.
All dialog windows that are sizable (some only may be resized in one axis) also have their size and position saved, when the dialog is closed, for next time use.
Moving the Internal Windows
The FS/2 internal windows are not movable. The fixed positioning aids in maintaining window arrangement within the FS/2 window.
Locking the Internal Windows
Users will frequently but accidentally drag a window border when using the mouse. For this reason, it is possible to lock the windows, for drag sizing only, by setting the Setup->Lock Windows menu option to the checked state.
