Description
This document is the official documentation for the FileStar/2 File Manager.
Most users dislike reading help files such as this one, the author included. The hallmark of a good program is being able to effectively use it with a minimum of study. Hopefully, FileStar/2 is such an application. However, one will never learn of many features without some perusal of this file. So please read carefully as time permits and when required to accomplish some file management tasks.
This help edition makes extensive use of screen graphic captures of windows, dialogs and other controls to improve comprehension of various subjects. No WPS window and/or control enhancers were used to enhance overall appearance with the exception that eStyler button shading and Styler/2 titlebars enhancements were used in most cases. What you see are Warp 4 or eComStation colors and controls, enhanced with default FlexEdit colors. All screen shots were converted to fewer than 256 colors to reduce the size of the help file and to make it more compatible with low resolution system use - which further degrades appearance. The appearance of this application may be enhanced over what is depicted within by individual customization and/or use of a WPS enhancer such as the Styler/2 application.
Throughout this help file, the FileStar/2 application is referred to by its acronym FS/2 and OS is used to refer to the Operating System since this application will run or either OS/2 or eComStation, a derivative of OS/2. For other acronyms used, see Acronyms.
