New Capabilities, Functions

FlexEdit, an internal editor/viewer - See FlexEdit description.

New network support. A Connect dialog shows available shares which may be used to assign shares to drive letters.

Support for network Windows NT/98 shares. Hides non-accessible directories.

Support for FTP.IFS. Use FS/2 commands such a ZipView, Copy, View on remote sites. ZipView can show/extract remote zip file contents. Remote directory is assigned to FS/2 drive letter.

Find text function integrated in the Find dialog. Grep or string search by selected files, directory or drive(s). Text search any type file. Search results are clickable and opens to line in FlexEdit if a text file.

Find files and click to open by set FS/2 associations.

View/edit EAs for any file or directory by scrolling through the FS/2 file lists or directory tree.

Query shows the selected file/directory details. User may cursor scroll to query other files/directories. Dialog shows directory/files number/sizes, all date info, read/write status, attributes. Use other buttons to open Properties and EA dialogs or to View/Edit files.

New DirMarks are an easy, configurable way to access frequently used directories. Two clicks to get to any directory that has been configured. Configurable by groups with point and click techniques.

Mouse chord in the directories window shows DirMarks dialog.

New printer setup functions. Print by file, pages, lines or blocks set in FlexEdit. Use different fonts for headers/footers and text body. Spin buttons set margins in inches/millimeters.

New auto-browse shows randomly selected files in FlexEdit with FS/2 remaining in the foreground or background.

New ways to rename multiple files, by serialization or pre/post appending to wildcard name segment.

New walk Last Used directories buttons on menu bar.

Mouse chord in Files window shows Last Used directories list.

Frequently Used and Last Used directory lists are expanded to 20 entries.

Last Used directories list now maintains chronological order.

WPS style in place editing of file and directory names.

ZipView shows executable zip file contents, extracts selected files.

ZipView Extract function creates directory if needed.

Zip setup support for system TMP directory, auto selects another drive if insufficient TMP file space.

Zip support for the 'R' option, recursive directory zipping from the current directory.

Most dialogs may be set behind/in front of the FS/2 window with the F9 key. This is particularly useful for the Find, Directory Compare and Query dialogs or when using FS/2 set to full screen.

Create nested directories.

Copying files from CDs auto strips the read only attribute.

Lock internal window to prevent accidental resizing.

Ctrl-click to fully expand/collapse a directory.

Remove selected files from Files window.

Set file filter by selected extension.

Include CRCs in files lists.

Multi-directory viewing/listing may be sorted by directories.

The Data Panel 'Selected' window may be click-toggled to show number of bytes or files selected.
